Eliminate the Leaning

Eliminate the leaning, and the knees stay elevated.

The arms should pop-up, leading the way up then out. It is the rear-end that lowers quickly and then pops-up following the lead of the arms and hands. It is this quick motion of squatting while the arms are getting up into place that causes the muscles to stretch like an elastic rubber-band and then launch the body up.

Obviously this athlete has made some positioning movements prior to the photos we see in the animation above. These are necessary positioning movements. Notice that his knees stay elevated during the position movements and that he is not leaning but is getting ready to jump up.
