How the Clinics Work
The PowerStarts(R)
Training SystemTM gives
swimmers defined launch angle, peak height, target distance, angle of entry, and
body position throughout the Start.
Accelerated Progress
In less than an hour of exposure to the PowerStarts(R)
Training SystemTM, swimmers who have been frustrated for years by poor starting
techniques can dramatically improve their starts. A process that is
virtually impossible by practicing your mistakes. The swimmer's senses
have done the learning for them, hugely accelerating their progress by taking
"snapshots" of sensations that great starters feel consistently as
they knife through the water.
Instant Gratification
PowerStarts(R)
Training SystemTM
takes the
haphazard and painfully slow process of learning the most efficient start
technique, and organizes it into a step-by-step learning system. It brings
instant gratification by letting the swimmer feel a surge of power as they enter
the water, a surge that they may never have felt before. Instead of making
the swimmer stumble onto these feelings themselves, the System automatically
defines the positions that are necessary for a powerful surge.
On-Site Coaching
The clinics cover the latest techniques for
quicker, more powerful starts, that are producing amazing results. The
clinics introduce the swimmers to the newest techniques in the racing start and
relay starts for all block-start strokes. Your PowerStarts(R)
coach
provides verbal analysis and adjustment to each swimmer as the clinic
progresses, enhancing the tactile feedback delivered by the Training System.
Digital Video Analysis
Effective study of the start-dive execution
can ONLY be accomplished with the aid of the PowerStarts(R)
Video
Analysis Software SolutionsTM.
PowerStarts(R)
provides this solution to coaches and swimmers in CD-ROM or DVD format, with
frame-by-frame analysis of digital video footage shot by PowerStarts(R)
or
by Certified PowerStarts(R)
Coaches.
Each swimmer's starts are video taped before any
training and then again after some instruction. The swimmer is
photographed with high-speed video and then digitized into
computer-captured-photos. The videos are shot while training with the PowerStarts(R)
Training
SystemTM.
Each swimmer will take a minimum of five-to-six
start-dives utilizing the Training SystemTM. We use a limited number of
start-dives for each swimmer, then analyze the swimmer's video to make
recommendations and changes. This prevents over-use and eliminates the
potential for developing new bad habits
While we are video-taping we are looking at the First
9 Stages of a Powerful Start. These positions will be isolated in a
computerized frame-by-frame analysis using our proprietary video capture and
computer software analysis process. The start-coach will spend
time with each swimmer individually before they step up to the starting block
and after they have taken two or three practice starts using the PowerStarts(R)
Training
SystemTM. We also use classroom time where technique and Safety
are discussed and videos are reviewed.
